Central Weald – PEDLs 231, 234 and 243

The licences are located in the Weald Basin of Southern England. The licences were awarded in July 2008 for an initial 6-year term, and cover an area of 1000 sq.kms.

Celtique has a 50% interest in the licences.

A series of oil and gas discoveries have been made in the area in shallow horizons, however Celtique have now identified several large deeper Triassic prospects and leads. The Triassic sands are sealed by overlying shales, sourced by underlying Palaeozoic shales. The identification of deeper unreactivated fault blocks can be clearly seen on recent seismic reprocessing. Additional potential lies in the more usual Jurassic reservoir objectives that produce around the basin margins.

The Central Weald has unconventional oil and gas potential in the Jurassic Liassic shales.

South Weald – PEDL 232

The Licence is located on the southern margin of the Weald Basin of Southern England. The licence was awarded in July 2008 for an initial 6-year term.

Celtique has a 50% interest in the licence.

The reservoir objective is the Middle Jurassic Great Oolite carbonate reservoir that is productive in the nearby fields of Singleton, Lidsey and Storrington. The existing seismic data in the area is being evaluated to gain better definition of the identified fault blocks as potential drilling targets.
