The East Midlands Basin is the main historic centre of oil production onshore England. Celtique Energie Petroleum Ltd has equity in four Petroleum Exploration and Production Licences (PEDL) in the East Midlands Basin. These licences were issued by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) as part of the UK Governments 13th Landward Licensing Round in July 2008.

PEDL 180 and PEDL 182 lie on the north flank of the basin and contain a number of oil discoveries that are being re-evaluated following acquisition of 3D seismic and the drilling and testing of the Wressle exploration well that discovered oil and gas in multiple horizons. Celtique has a 33.33% working interest in this licence which is operated by Egdon Resources PLC.
PEDL 201 is in the Widmerpool sub basin and the exploration potential of the area is being assessed following the drilling of the Burton on The Wolds exploration well. Celtique has a 32.5% working interest in this licence which is operated by Egdon Resources PLC.
PEDL 181 is located along the Humber estuary and the exploration potential of this area is being assessed following the acquisition of 2D and 3D seismic and the drilling of the Kiln Lane exploration well. Celtique has a 25% working interest in this licence which is operated by Europa Oil and Gas (Holdings) PLC.
